What a beautiful museum! Small, but I love being able to see inside the old hotel. There are art galleries on the first two floors, a super fun kid's space on the second floor, and more local history on the third. I really enjoyed it and learning more about Abilene! The original train station is right across the street and several of the storybook character statues are in the immediate area. There is dedicated parking for the museum, "behind" the hotel (opposite from the front corner entrance), both covered and uncovered. I found plenty of street parking as well right on the corner. There's a coffee shop and restaurant nearby that looked like they were serving at 10 am.
So thankful we chose The Grace to host our son’s wedding. The facility is BEAUTIFUL and the staff are AMAZING. They are so very helpful and provide everything you need to host a beautiful event. This venue cannot be beat for the value you get for your dollar. There is no other place in Abilene as elegant and beautiful as The Grace Museum. Thomas and his crew are the best I have ever known. I am so thankful we chose The Grace to help us celebrate this marriage!
I used to come here as a child, and it was my most favorite place. I hadn’t been home in 13 years, and the Grace was one of two reasons why I came back to Texas for Christmas. I took my children to see why I love The Grace so much, and It. Did. Not. Disappoint.! I also want to give so much thanks to the wonderful staff for making it feel like home again. Honestly, the woman that greeted us, (I apologize for forgetting her name), made such an impression on my children and I, that we will always remember how warm and welcoming she was. Thank you to The Grace Museum for all of the memories that I have, and for making new memories for my children.
Stopped by to kill some time and learned a little about the history of Abilene. Friendly people.
Then we went upstairs to the kid area. Fun fun.
Stopped in Abilene for a few hours and popped into this little museum. It’s a combination of art, kid’s stuff, and history.
The building was originally built to be a hotel, and the third floor has some history about it.
The lady working the front desk was super nice and informative. She explained the layout of the museum since it was my first visit. I also asked for recommendations for the city, and she was very helpful with things to see and eat.
Staff is so friendly and helpful! Thomas answered so many questions I had about local culture and stuff. The art and history exhibits were engaging and so enjoyable! A definite must see if you're in the area and the exhibits change monthly so even locals can visit and have new experiences!
Our family of seven visited The Grace in the morning. Our five children had an amazing time discovering all the kinds of art they could make in the play zone. The VW Bug was a huge hit for our three-year-old. Our seven-year-old loved the stage area and the Astronaut costumes. Our eight-year-old was amazed by the touchscreen draw creator. And our five-year-old and six-year-old loved the play centers.
The art installations on communication and the arts were beautifully displayed and the children found them most interesting.
The period rooms and the hotel room would have looked like at The Grace for was very interesting and was loved and cared for.
I enjoyed the dresses and many types of hand fans.
We could not have been more entertained by this outing.
It was also a great place to be out of the hot sun.
Just had my son's wedding at the Grace. What a beautiful and fun venue. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Everyone there exceeded expectations. I highly recommend Thomas and his staff for any event you may have. 10 out 10 all the way.
